On NOT Grieving the SPIRIT

Psalm 1:6

King James Version

6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous:

but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

What happens when we've come to know the laws of God, started following Jesus, become born again, started learning from the Holy Spirit, and yet we backslide, and go back to our old, sinful ways?

Or maybe, we do even more grievous things.

Scripture says clearly:

Hebrews 10:26

King James Version

26 For if we sin wilfully

after that we have received the knowledge of the truth,

there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

2 Peter 2:21

King James Version

21 For it had been better for them n

ot to have known the way of righteousness, than,

after they have known it,

to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

If, after we've come to know the Lord's truth -- through the Holy Spirit -- and we continue to sin, then we gravely disrespect the Holy Spirit of God.

Ephesians 4:30

King James Version

30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God,

whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Knowing the TRUTH of JESUS is the most exciting journey.

But expect to be a constant target of the deceiver.

Expect constant ambush.

The tempter will hope to trip you, every chance he gets.

Traps are set all over the place.

No one is immune from it.

1 Peter 5:8-9

King James Version

8 Be sober,

be vigilant

because your adversary the devil,

as a roaring lion,

walketh about,

seeking whom he may devour:

9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith

knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished

in your brethren that are in the world.

But we are not without help.

Strength for the journey can only come from Christ.

Philippians 4:13

King James Version

13 I can do all things through Christ

which strengtheneth me.

And every day is an opportunity to know more about Jesus, to follow His will, to be led by Him, and to enjoy the journey back to God.

Psalm 16:11

King James Version

11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life:

in thy presence is fulness of joy;

at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

How could anyone ever want to get back to darkness?

That's definitely a dead end street.

Once you've experienced GRACE from God, you will never want to fall from it.

We must cherish the sacrifice of the Lord on the cross.

The best we can do is stay on the path, following Jesus every step of the way, holding tightly to His hands, having Him live in our hearts, and constantly communicating with Him.

He is the WAY, after all.

John 14:6

King James Version

6 Jesus saith unto him,

I am the way,

the truth,

and the life:

no man cometh unto the Father,

but by me.

How can we ever go astray?

Not possible, if you are a true believer, and a devoted student of Spirit.

For every doubt, for every stumbling, for every temptation, for every weakening of spirit, or resolve, call upon Jesus.

He ALWAYS shows up.

It takes faith to believe in that.

Do you have such a faith?
